Jobs & Job Titles
I've been working as a professional User Experience Designer, in some form or another, for over twenty-five years.
User Experience Designer is a broad term. During my career I have been a Web Designer, a Service Designer, an Interaction Designer, a Product Designer, and a Producer. All those roles have been given suffixes and prefixes like Senior, and Lead, and Head of, and somewhat embarrassingly, Guru.
The title Web Publisher is my favourite, but not well used, but it goes back to my original story where before I made websites I was involved in publishing paper Fanzines.
About Me & My Cat
I'm; based in Yorkshire, UK and work onsite, remote and globally.
Specifically I live in the City of Bradford with Leo, who is a cat, and can be seen at #thedailyleo.
This Website
There are so many versions of this website.
There is the version which is all bleeding edge graphic design, there is the version which uses Front End tricks to make something playful, there is the version which dumps entire Project Files online.
This is the version which tells stories around User Experience design, because I think that UX is about stories. Every one of these stories and case studies are a snapshot of months and years of experience, and somethings are always left out.
Names & Things
In some cases the names of people, and even the names of companies, have been changed or removed. This is mostly done at the request of the agencies I have worked with as a consultant.
Some designs & screenshots have been amended or edited to ensure that personal data is never shared.
